Let’s go to camp!
I’m ready to go to camp, what should I do?
The excitement of the first day at Walpole Rebel Lacrosse Camp! The boys are going to wake up early, they’ll be out of bed and worried about having all of their equipment ready to go. All year long, they’ve been dragging themselves out of bed to get to school, but now they’re suddenly full of energy in the morning!
Things to get ready before going to camp:
- Equipment consisting of: a helmet with chin strap, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, a stick, a mouth guard, and a girdle with a cup.
- Hydration: the best idea is a small cooler with a couple of ice packs and plenty to drink. Water or sports drinks are the best.
- Food: the boys should pack a lunch if they are staying for the full day Rebel program. High energy snacks such as fruit, energy bars or protein bars.
- Breakfast is highly recommended, but nothing too heavy. The boys will absolutely be moving once camp starts, this is not a leisurely camp, and a heavy breakfast might just weigh him down.

Bird Middle School, 625 Washington St, Walpole, MA
Arriving to the camp:
- The camp starting time is 9:00 AM. Please arrive in plenty of time to check in, allow the boys to get settled and geared up, and ready to enter the field at 9:00 AM. Arriving at 9:00 AM means that you’re late.
- The WRLC is held at Bird Middle School, 625 Washington Street, East Walpole, MA.
- When you pull into Bird Middle School, drive down the driveway and then stay to the left. The lower parking lot is very small, so you may want to park in the upper lot and walk down.
- The check in table will be set up next to the lower lot to the left of the school. Check-in is a great time to say hello to the coaches and counselors, and to discuss any information that we may need to know concerning your son. Any allergies or medical limitations, or any special information that we should know about, now’s the time.
Extending a half-day to a full-day:
- Once your son has had a taste of the Walpole Rebel Lacrosse Camp, there’s a very good chance that he’ll want to stay for the entire day and, of course, he has that option.
- You will need to bring a check with you in the morning, in the amount of $25.
- Present your check at the check-in table and let the staff know that your son has chosen to remain for the entire day.
- Watch your son high-five the other kids as he arrives and they all find out that he gets to stay until 3:00 PM.
Picking up at the end of the day:
- The half day Junior Rebel program ends at 11:45 AM.
- The full day Rebel program ends at 3:00 PM.
- By the end of the day, the boys will have played in a scrimmage and the camper of the day will have been chosen. They will be excited, they will be recounting the events of the day, and they’ll be laughing and talking with each other. Don’t be surprised if you’re unable to get your son’s attention when it’s time to leave.
- The lower lot, again, is very small so parking will be limited down below.
- Be sure that your son has all of his equipment, his cooler, his snacks/food.
- Let the counselors know that you are leaving with your son and then get the full run down of his day.
By the end of the week:
- Your son will have had 5 chances to be the camper of the day, along with a single chance to make the camper of the week.
- Your son’s lacrosse skills will have improved under the guidance of the Walpole High School Men’s Varsity Lacrosse coach, Jason Andalo, and his staff.
